In the Creative Flow

Creativity

You know what it's like when you're in creative flow: time flies, your mind and heart are in synch and you have a sense of being connected to something 'greater' than you.

It can even feel a little bit like being in love - you're inspired, lit up from the inside; maybe even emanating a subtle rosy glow

When the flow takes you, it's a truly delicious feeling.

As flow takes over your heart, your time and your creative imagination, if there is a tangible outcome at the end of it - a book, a song, a poem, a beautiful meal, a painting, a project completed, a new offering for your clients - that's a bonus.

Yet even when that's not the case, the sheer joy of being in flow is often 'outcome' enough.

Let's back up a moment though. Maybe you actually haven't experienced this kind of creative flow, or only fleetingly.

Maybe you do get into flow, but it soon gets disrupted by life and it's challenges.

Maybe you can remember amazing times of flow but it seems like forever since you were last there.

Here is where colour comes in.

To give you an example from my own life, I used to enjoy times of creative flow, especially when writing, but I had a super-busy mind and a fairly left-brained approach to life. When I met Colour Mirrors, something began to shift within me.

I began to open to curiosity, intuition and a sense of inner expansion.

I started to trust the knowing inside that led me to choose this colour or that and to 'get' the messages the colours held for me.

I noticed a greater awareness of the patterns and programmes that were running my life and a growing ability to step back from them.

I began to experience a lot more flow in my everyday life.

The bottles and colours 'spoke' to me on a level nothing else had before and so did the teachings that accompanied them.

I watched how the blues and turquoises called to me when I was longing for more creativity and flow.

The reds and oranges gave me courage and the inner drive to take action on creative nudges.

When I wasn't giving myself enough space and time, green would be flagged up for me.

Yellow and gold connected me to my inner joy and spiritual light so that this could flow more generously through my writing, workshops and client sessions.

The more involved I became with Colour Mirrors, the more my inner world changed - and this was reflected in powerful ways in my outer world.

Now, I live a great deal more of my life in a state of flow. I am so much more at ease with life and less beholden to the thinking mind.

In fact, I'm amazed (and delighted) how little 'thinking' goes on these days! Creative flow just 'happens' - and that is a true blessing!

It is also an incredible joy to watch others discover their creative flow and step into more grace, healing, expansion and lightness of being.

I love every session I facilitate with colour, as clients receive clarity, insight, healing and inspiration.

Every single workshop I run, both online and in person, gives me untold joy as I feel deeply inspired to create 'in the moment', often not knowing at the start what I will say during the class but trusting in the deep flow of the creative light to emerge.

Running workshops with Melissie is even more fun, as we pivot and weave a colourful magic between us, and we're excited to be coming together again on 1st and 2nd November in Dorset, UK to bring a new workshop to the CM family!

Starting in January 2026, I'll also be collaborating with CM teacher trainer Kath Roberts to facilitate an extraordinary 4-month journey called The Creative Edge, where we'll take a group from burgeoning beginnings to fabulous fruition with their creative endeavours.

If you're ready to step into and merge with creative flow, colour is one of the very best tools you'll ever find. Come and experience it for yourself!
